About our work in Round Hill

Round Hill sits where the weather hits first

Out at the base of the Blue Ridge, western Loudoun exteriors take more punishment than the ones closer to the county line. Wind comes off the mountain, sun sits on west-facing walls all afternoon, and the freeze-thaw swings are sharper than they are down in Sterling or Ashburn. Siding, trim, and roofing all age faster here.

Round Hill is also a mix. There are older homes in and around the town proper, some well past the point where their original exteriors were meant to last, and newer houses on larger lots out toward Sleeter Lake and Hill High. Not every property answers to an HOA, which usually means fewer approval hoops and more room to pick the right material for the exposure rather than the one on an approved list.

Common exterior projects in Round Hill

What we see on Round Hill homes

Weather exposure drives most of the work out here. The question is usually which system gave out first.

West and south wall siding

The west and south walls take the brunt of the sun and wind out here. We replace faded, cracked vinyl with heavier-gauge or insulated product, and fiber cement where a homeowner wants the most durable option for the exposure.

Drafty, fogged windows

Drafty and fogged windows are common in the older stock, and newer builds are now old enough to show seal failure too. A tighter window makes a real difference on an exposed western Loudoun lot in January.

Sun and wind-driven rot

Sun and wind-driven rain are hard on wood trim and fascia here. Wrapping or replacing it with a low-maintenance product stops the rot and the yearly repainting.

Wind-rated roofing

Wind is the roof’s enemy out here. We install architectural asphalt rated for higher wind and pay attention to the edges and ridges where mountain gusts do their damage.

Why local matters

We’re based in Sterling and cover western Loudoun out to the Blue Ridge.

Round Hill is at the western edge of our service area, and we have been coming out here since the start. The same project manager who walked your property answers the phone, the same W-2 crew finishes the job, and warranty service stays in-house instead of getting handed off. On an exposed mountain lot, having a contractor who will actually come back for a callback matters more, not less.

Common questions

Questions about exterior work in Round Hill

Is Virginia Exteriors licensed to work in Virginia?

Yes. We carry full liability and workers’ compensation insurance on every job, and our Virginia contractor license number is on every estimate we send โ€” you can verify it on the DPOR website in about 30 seconds.

How long does a typical project take?

Most window replacements finish in a single day. Full-house siding is typically two to four days depending on the scope. Roofing runs one to two days for a standard colonial. We give you a schedule before we start and tell you exactly which days the crew will be on-site.

Do you handle HOA approval paperwork?

Yes. We submit material and color specs to your HOA on your behalf and handle follow-up from the review board. We know what most Northern Virginia associations want to see โ€” product cut sheets, color samples, installation specs โ€” and we price the submittal into every job. We make sure what we install will pass review before we ever order materials.

What warranty comes with the work?

Every product carries the manufacturer’s warranty โ€” lifetime limited on most windows and siding, 25 to 50 years on roofing. We add a written workmanship warranty on top of that. If something fails because of how it was installed, we fix it. Warranty service is handled by the same crew that did the work, not handed off to a call center.

Do you come all the way out to Round Hill?

Yes. We are based in Sterling and cover western Loudoun out to the Blue Ridge, including the town of Round Hill, the Villages at Round Hill, the Sleeter Lake area, and the surrounding rural properties across the 20141 ZIP.

Does the mountain exposure change what you install?

It does. West and south walls, edges, and ridges take more wind and sun out here, so we lean toward heavier-gauge or insulated siding, wind-rated shingles, and low-maintenance trim that stands up to the freeze-thaw swings.

Is my Round Hill property in an HOA?

Many are not. A lot of western Loudoun sits outside HOA review, which usually means fewer approval hoops and more freedom to pick the right material for the exposure. Where there is a review board, we handle the submittal.
